The Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI) and UCL Partners have signed a concordat of collaboration to address challenges facing the NHS and social care. Signed in July 2015, the agreement fosters collaboration between the medical technology industry and UCL Partners. Designated in 2013, UCL Partners is one of the largest and most diverse Academic Health Science Networks in England serving over six million people in parts of London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. Its members are translating cutting edge research, and innovation into measurable health improvement and wealth creation through a portfolio of programmes, addressing the most pressing healthcare challenges faced by the local population. The collaboration will help develop a coordinated approach in responding to initiatives that deliver mutuality beneficial outcomes, while enabling ABHI and UCLPartners to collectively address on-going health challenges, and industry opportunities such as digital health, Test Beds and Vanguards. The Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI) is the industry association for the medical technology sector in the UK. It leads the advocacy of the industry in order to advance access to medical technology.
