Medical Area Dedicated to Personalization

Medical technology is becoming more and more important in society. This is one of the reasons the Medical Area will become a new fixed component of the Metav 2016 trade fair, held from February 23 to 27.

At the Metav 2016 international trade fair for technology in metal processing, people will start to see more medical technology: when Messe Düsseldorf asks Metav 2016 for new scheduling, the new area of quality, molding, additive manufacturing, and medical will be joining the key areas of machine tools and production systems, precision tools, automated material flow, computer technology, and industrial electronics and accessories. Medical technology has been a recurrent topic in terms of the Metal-meets-Medical initiative since 2010. Now the vision of new materials, surface technology, and medical engineering will turn the professional world’s attention to the growing technology market of modern medicine. Currently attracting special attention is the topic of personalization in medical technology. Modern medical technology wants to take a successive departure from methods in which the patient is adapted to the product. Datron AG from Mühltal, Germany, which develops customized processing centers for dental technicians and dentists and will be an exhibitor at the Medical Area, is getting involved in personalized medical technology. “The challenge is to develop machines that are intended for different materials and dental customers, who usually do not know much about programming and chip removal,” explains Frank Fuchs, Product Manager Dental CAD/CAM Systems. New dental machines are being used for a much wider range of applications.
