Nanosystec GmbH manufactures customized assembly and production systems. These systems feature the use of multiaxial motion systems that can be combined with assembly methods such as precision laser welding, micro-adhesion, and precision laser soldering. At the trade fair, Nanosystec from Gross-Umstadt, Germany, will be presenting prototype structures for laser welding of transparent plastics, laser fine balancing of rotors, and precision positioning and assembly of tiny components. It will also be exhibiting, among other products, the new VersaWeld-TLPW system that is intended to offer a cost-efficient production step for medical components on an industrial scale. The new welding systems will process any thermoplastic polymer, including polycarbonate, COC, and PMMA, and make it possible to use laser welding for transparent plastics without additives, which ensures biocompatibility, making this product indispensable in medical systems. The heart of the new system is a fiber laser combined with a high-accuracy positioning system. The system facilitates, as an example, high-precision manufacturing of lab-on-a-chip systems, including those with complex geometries.
