At Compamed, Panacol-Elosol GmbH, based in Steinbach (Taunus), Germany, will be showcasing the new low-viscous and transparent adhesive for plastic, glass, and metal bonds, Vitralit UV 4050 LV, which can be applied in an automated process. The adhesive, which is designed to work in the thinnest gaps, features outstanding adhesion to most plastics, such as PC, PVC, PS, ABS, and SAN; and to metals, such as stainless steel, steel, and aluminum; and to glass. If at least one assembly part material is transparent, Vitralit UV 4050 LV will generate a secure bond, reports the manufacturer. The adhesive will even work with UV-blocked substrates, such as PC. It has been tested in accordance with USP Class VI and DIN ISO 10993–4/5 for use in medical technology applications. It takes only a few seconds for Vitralit UV 4050 LV to cure on exposure to light in the UVA spectrum or in the visible spectrum. Therefore, gas-discharge lamps or LED systems can be used for curing. Excellent adhesive strength is created through curing with gallium-stabilized gas-discharge lamps at high intensities.
