Highly sensitive materials like medical plastics for invasive applications can be marked gently, permanently and sterilizable with the help of UV laser markers. Extremely fine and precise marking on plastics which didn’t use to react to infrared laser markers as well as glass is possible. The powerful DPL Lexis Marker of the product range Business Diode works at a wavelength of 355 nm in the ultraviolet spectral range and therefore is highly suitable for marking with low heat input. During the so-called ‚cold marking‘ the energy of the short-wave UV radiation triggers a photochemical reaction of the material. Unlike foaming, the UV marking laser only colors the surface without damaging it. The UV laser DPL Lexis Marker achieves high speed at pulse frequencies of 40 up to 200 kHz with excellent pulse to pulse stability and outstanding beam quality. This is necessary in order to produce at high speed in industrial production processes.
